Hi everyone. I haven't been online for awhile. How are things going?
I am finally graduating college and going to be purchasing a 'new' truck this summer. I was just wondering what a good rust free southern truck with low miles costs these days.
I am looking for a F350 4x4 SRW CC with no rust. I think I would prefer the short bed with the CC. I don't mind if its an auto or manual.
Thanks guys.
Also, I am debating a 466 swap into my current truck but I still have alot to think about. Any information you could forward me would me very appreciated.
Correct that F350 CC's were always long beds. But I've seen a few on craigslist that have already been converted to dana 60's. Keep your eye out and I bet you'll find one.
Yeah. I meant to add that to my previous post. OBS trucks were either F350 CCLB or F250 CCSB.
I would love a CCSB 4x4...
Kinda like the one in diesel power mag not too long ago.
the ultimate "explorer" or whatever.. this guy had some SWEET setup on his 97F250 CCSB. Crazy awesome setup
I paid 8200 for mine with a little rust over the rear wheels and a bunch of upgrades. It was a TX/KY truck. No idea why people like the shortbed myself. I love the longbed, but beiing the father of a large family, we always seem to need room for something.
I managed to snag a 96 350 cclb 4x4 for 6500. With 223k on the clock. But after finding out the history of it and having to have the tranny rebuilt in it right after I got it I had around 10k tied up in it. Not sure if I'd of bought the truck knowing the history on it now.
What's sucks is right after I bought the truck.I was stupid on was still looking and found a 02 350cclb 4x4 for 9000. And it only had 120k miles on it.
How are you doing in school? How much longer do you have until you graduate?
Im good man! I transferred in the Fall 2012 to Northern ILlinois University from University of Toledo... so I lost a few credits, but it allows me to keep working (for good money.. enough to pay for school) and keep continuing.
My company says there is a spot for me when i finish too!
I could do it in 3 semester...but most likely will be 4 because they dont seem to offer any courses i need over the summer. Fall is 19 CR. Spring is 19. and then Fall 2014 i should only have 18 necessary.
Soooo ya. its goin! LOL
How about you?
I only have been past Ft Wayne once recently, but I need to remember to give ya a holler! If this trans swap takes place at Todd's in Ohio ill have to swing on by.

Thats a fair price... I got mine for $7200 with 163k on the dash...I didnt get the brand new 35" mud terrains he had on it, but I got some 33" standard tires. The lift was brand new (have receipt) and the exhaust too...so it saved me a couple G's lol

Yaaa i know that feeling.. a few CCs popped up like RIGHT after I bought my truck. But i wouldnt trade Gretchen for the world!
Well a short is nice for a car, if you get a f250 I'll help you find a Dana 60 and do the swap Phil. I know how nice a solid front axle just wish I had lock outs lol and definetly go manual! Lol can't beat it
