Engine Stickers, anything special?
Ordered some new valve covers off of ebay for my 408 build. They look just like the Ford Racing Boss style aluminum ribbed ones, but in the center square where it would say "Ford Racing" it's just blank. I'm wanting to put a sticker there with an aluminum colored background and some orange script to match the color of my truck. Does it have to be something special? I was going to see if the local graphics shop, who uses 3M stuff would know what to use. I want it to hold up to the heat without discoloring or peeling up. I'm sure hot oil will splash on the underside of that valve cover surface....

yeah they will get a little hot. Maybe check and see what it would take to get a pair engraved, might not be as bad as you think. Cad and laser etching has made this sort of stuff a lot more affordable now-a-days.

I had a pair of 351 fender badges laying around. Drilled two holes and bolted them on with the supplied nuts and used some rubber O-rings as gaskets on the under side. looked great. sold them a while back cause I had to use the TALL valve covers on this build.
