When I turn my steering wheel it makes a sound similar to worn brakes, I really only notice it at low speeds like in parking lots and turning at stop signs etc.
Most likely your power steering pump. The reason it happens at lower speeds, when you are turning, etc, is because it takes more force to turn your tires when you are going slower, and your ps pump has to try harder. Check your fluid, see if it is full, and see how dirty it is. Keep in mind that brake fluid (or powersteering fluid) is clear. Most older trucks like these have brown - black fluid, and it is time for a fluid change. If new fluid doesn't do it, a new pump may be the answer.
