Replacement clutch install height problem

Replacement clutch install height problem
2000 F-350 7.3 clutch job. The replacement pressure plate and bearing combo - when set next to the just removed combo - is approximately one inch shorter. Does the slave have enough rod travel to compensate for this difference in installed height difference? Anyone have experience with this? Thanks in advance.
