Help 2003 F150 4.6L
Yesterday my 2003 F150 4.6L would not start. Noticed I couldn't hear the fuel pump coming on.I checked the fuses and then bench tested the fuel pump relay and it checks out ok. I also checked the fuel inertia switch and it wasn't tripped and then checked for power there and there is none. I also noticed where the mileage usually is just a bunch of dashes. I tried hooking up a scanner to read the codes and all I get is a link error. And oh yeah I also installed new fuel pump.So where do I go next? Could the problem be with the PCM?Anyway to check that?
Try this first; turn on the ignition to run and wait several minutes to see if the Theft lamp flashes a two digit code.
There is a second test but try this one first.
It may be circuit board connections that is a known issue.
Good luck.
It tells that the PATS signal in not being received by the PCM.
A fault in the wiring or the PATS Transceiver.
The two units are hardwired togather.
If the PCM does not receive a 'legal' signal from PATS, it suspend starting as it is supposed to do for Theft protection.
Unfortunetly it is the same for a fault.
Good luck.
