I got problems
Here are my problems with my truck. I don't know where to begin looking.
Oh and my truck is a 2003 SCSB 7.3 Auto with ESOF.
Went through some water 2 years ago and 4 Lo stopped working. 4 High still works fine. 4x4/4lo dash lights dont usually go on with initial key event like they should. 4x4 light does work when 4high is engaged
4Lo now works. The neutral sensor wire was to blame, and so was the 4wd module ground
Interior dome light switches won't work 95% of the time. If I open the door and close it sometimes they work. The middle dome light works fine when I open the doors
still does this. No idea why. The issue isn't in the switches
Radio doesn't work with key in accessory, only works with key in run position
Haven't looked into this but it always works in the run position so I don't care much
Ford factory fog lights have no power going to them, thus they don't work. Bulbs are intact
replacing the headlight switch, hopefully that helps. If not I'm going to have to figure something else out. I want these to work. I checked the wiring from the fog lights themselves to the main harness and it checks out fine
Truck will start in ANY gear.
I really don't care that it does this
Sometimes the remote door locks don't work.
I haven't a clue here. the wires are a bit of a mess going to the module for this. Maybe one froke somewhere
Factory remote start does everything except actually start the truck.
Same here as the door locks. I assume no power is being sent to the starter solenoid
Last time I hooked a trailer to the trailer brake plug the radio would not shut off even when the truck was turned off and the key removed.
I THINK this was a bad relay. I did find a bad relay but haven't hooked up a trailer since
I read about the GEM and stuff but I read my truck doesn't have one. it has a VSM? I don't know what that is. Could all these issues be rooted back to one specific item or?
truck does not have a GEM
Anyone with any form of insight would be nice. I've been beating my head with this for a long time and spent crazy amounts of time searching online for answers. I'm just not familiar with ford electrical. I'm more of a 3 wire kind of guy...
Also, on page 2 or 3 or 4 or whatever it is I had an issue with my tail lights. I found that was an exposed wire in behind my tail light on the driver side. Probably a wire that went to a topper tail light when a PO owned the truck. Whoever did that didn't eliminate the wire, just cut it and left it in there. I can't believe it took 2 1/2 years of me owning the truck for this to actually happen.
Also, had a blower motor issue. that's a loose connection in the harness plug right at the blower motor. I took the plug apart and bent the contacts so it makes good contact with the blower motor plug tongs. If that makes sense...
