Ford 521 stroker np435 Conversion

I bought a ford 521 stroker that was previously a 429. I also have a Np435 that i would love to hook it up with the Engine. From what i understand and have read im going to need to buy a Ford 400 Bellhousing but what puzzles me is that clutch and flywheel situation. After a few weeks of reading about the conversion i ran across this Kit from L&L
L&L Products
and need to know if this clutch would hold up to the 600hp the engine puts out. If not any point in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for the help.

First of all, A 521 is going to be a pretty tall order to build 600 hpon pump gas, not impossible, but probably well into the 6000 rpm range. My 545 is 11.2:1 aluminum headed and hits 6000 rpm, I might be 600 but not over for sure. Anyway, I would say that you will be fine to use that kit for your combo, L&L makes very nice stuff (except the engine mounts)

X2 on what Drac said. Read and read and search and read and search. I learned a ton about my stuff from those boys. They are very good at the "385" from ford.

I'm not sure why you think 600 hp will be tough to get out of a 521. I just built one and it will be in the 650 range on pump gas and it is only 10.1:1. It wouldn't be hard to get more than 650 hp out of it if I wanted to.

It's not cheap though, I have about $10,000 in my engine.

We have something in common then. I'm a married dad and my last kid just left home so now I can afford it. Funny how that works

Haha! My dad was telling me the other day to enjoy it while I can! So do you think that clutch kit will be good enough?

If it was me I would be concerned about "slight rough engagement".
If its a toy and in the mud or off road at all times then Ok. Crawling trails might be a pain. I couldn't use that in my build. But you're not me.
I might contact them and see exactly what that means. They may have something better for you. I've found that direct contact with the manufacturer is always best. It's so easy these days, no big deal.
Good luck.

Clutches slip due to torque, not so much because of hp.
Bigger diameter is better. 12" stronger than 11"
What does L&L say?
Another thing to ask about is the pressure plate spring force. Higher the pressure, stronger the clutch. It is harder on the left leg to push though.
