Vacuum fitting - where to buy?

Vacuum fitting - where to buy?
On the back of my edelbrock manifold is a threaded vacuum fitting that has the transmission vacuum and the brake booster vacuum attached to it. I want to replace it, but I cannot seem to locate these at my local auto parts store. They look at the part like it is from outerspace when they see it. Is this some "hard to find" item or is it more readily available than it seems?
And, what do you guys use to seal vacuum threads, specifically where this fitting threads into the manifold?
Thanks.

I believe the threads are pipe threads. Tefflon tape or pipe dope should work. As far as fittings, Summit has something like http://www.summitracing.com/parts/prs-1042/overview/ Another option is the hardware store in the brass fitting section.

I came here to say this. I ran into the same issue with my Weiand intake. I ended up doing all of the fittings using brass parts at the larger hardware store in the area. Try a Ace Hardware or Westlake Hardware, one of those types of places. They won't have much if anything at Home Depot, Lowes, or those type of stores. Most of my fittings were 3/8 pipe threads too.
