Dying at idle
late 2004 F350 CCLB <acronym title="Four Wheel Drive">4X4</acronym>. Truck dies at idle at random times. No rough idle, surging, hard starting or loss of power before dying. It restarts immediately. Only strange thing is that it seems to lose power to the dash when it dies, my CTS resets and the gauges do a full sweep, once it even reset the radio. The only code I am getting is for the fan clutch sensor. Any ideas on where to start?

I'm no expert, but I would start looking at the wiring harnesses and check for chafing and possible shorts or bare wires. If nothing is obvious, try lightly lifting and bending the wiring harness while the truck is at idle and see if there is any change in how it runs or if it dies. You may have chafed, bare, or broken wires causing a short or faulty sensor indications. I'm sure someone with more experience than me will chime in soon.
