Any insight on this?
Do yourself a favour and upgrade to a 6.7 gearbox. I went with a used scrapper 6.7 box and had to tighten it like 4 whole turns to get the slop out, but 10,000+ kms so far and my 06 F250 with 8'' lift drives like a Porsche! That being said I'll be swapping out the used 6.7 box for a brand new, non rebuilt 2017 6.7 box here soon just for the sake of keeping everything fresh.

Also I've tightened 2 gear boxes now, both with wheels straight and 1/8th turn won't do jack...1/2 turns speeds up the process or at least did for me.
