Question Superduty Electrical Issues

I have (2) unrelated electrical issues.
Problem 1: My fuel gauge has started to act up. When I start my truck it pegs full, 10-15 minutes later it pegs empty. Sometimes it settles on 3/4 but eventually pegs again. This was an intermittent problem for awhile but now permanent. Obvious fix would be the sensor but since it is a Ford I want to make sure there isn't some other electrical nuance I should be checking.

Which leads me to my other problem. For the last several years I have had an intermittent short in the circuit that feeds my radio/windows/glove box light/cabin light. Driving down the road the radio will turn off for no reason. I use to think I couldn't recreate the short to troubleshoot until I realized that every time I try to turn on my cabin light the circuit goes dead (this isn't the case when I open the door and the light comes on). I've heard a lot of people have problems with the harness running across the door base.

Anyone with an "Oh yeah that happened to me once"?

You actually have an intermittent "open" circuit, not a "short" circuit. Shorts usually cause blown fuses or smoke when they occur.

Please identify the specifics of your truck so the circuits can be traced out.

Replace the fuel sender. wiggle wires to find bad connection...
