Ive seached the forum to no end and not found what im looking for. Im working on a 04 that has me a little puzzled as to where to look next. The truck only has 60k on it and has already had a couple of turbos and egr valves already Ive been told. The icp pressure is up above 1500psi while cranking, the ipr is around 60% however will hit 80% every once in a while and act like its going to start. it has new fuel filters and oil change. No codes. The fuel bowl on engine is full the two times i checked after cranking. All fuses are good. ficm is at 48 volts. One thing that troubles me is that the vacuum pump runs all of the time when the key is on, even if its been on for 20 mins or so. Cant remember if that is normal. The rpm while cranking is close to 200, sounds normal. unplugged the fan clutch. The cam sensor doesent show a falt on data stream during cranking. I am using a IDS(ford style tester). Any direction of what to do next would be appreciated! Thanks!
Have you unplugged ICP sensor and tried to start?? I know it shows Good Pressure but that might not be the case
If starts ICP unplugged then need ICP
If it still dont start ICP unplugged then ICP sensor is good
Does the Injectors BUZZ at KOEO???
With the vac leak sounds Like 4X4
Dont worrey about it yet it has Nothing to dowith why the engine dont start
The Leak is likely in the 4X4 half
Vac Controls the 4X4 and Heater Position and thats It
i havent unplugged icp sensor yet that was one of my next steps, just seems odd it would register good pressure and be bad. I believe i hear the injectors buzz but its hard to tell with that darn noisy vacuum pump.
I just changed a ficm in another truck last month that was running rough when cold and i really wish i would have keep that core for testing. This truck will fire a little here and there like its going to start.
does it do it when EOT is above 60* or so? (either warm ambient temps outside or starting after it's been started and ran earlier in the day.) chasing a similar issue with similar conditions myself, so i'll be looking forward to seeing if you get anywhere.
