Anyone doing this? I have three kids: 6, 3, and 14months. Two are still in car seats. Anyone putting three kids in the back of their EB?
I'm picking up my first EB over Father's Day, and will immediately begin fab work on a full cage and rear seat section for my kids. Anyone have pics they can show me? I have some pretty decent fab skills, but would like to see a finished product if they replaced the rear seat with something bigger.
But it reminds me of what a crank addict would come up with after he's been up for five days straight and taken apart all of the radios in the house.
I don't see how you could get 3 across in the back seat. Maybe move the rear seat forward and mount another seat back to back.
You sure want to do it safe and secure though with good seat mounting and seat belts for everyone.
I have an aftermarket seat that just barely fits between the wheelwells. But it is only big enough for 2.
BTW Forrest, I gotta say that the silver Fairmont is a sweet lookin' ride though
thanks for the compliment on the silver car... if you'd seen my cream colored wagon dragging some Z06 *** at the street races, you'd understand why I had to have this thing!!
sorry for the somewhat off-topic post, I'll try to control myself in the future.

Well, I guess that's what I'm gonna have to do(three rows). The purpose of this rig will be to fit the whole family on the trail. My wife is sick of taking care of he kids when I'm in the rocks.
You happen to have a pic of your rear seat section? Just for comparison.
Look in the junkyards for a late-70s/early-80s Datsun/Nissan king cab pickup and get the rear seats out. They'll bolt down easily in your bed, and they fold up flat agains the sides. I have a set in mine that I took out of an '80-86 Bronco, but it's the only one I've ever seen with them, so I doubt they were OE. I have a better set from a '78 Datsun that I'm going to have powdercoated before I swap them in. JCWhitney sells seat belts that you can bolt to the floor beside the seats.
You can see mine in the 83 Bronco album in my sig link.
Steve, the plan would be to move the current stock seat back closer to the tailgate. I have an extra Bestop fold-n-tumble from my CJ7 that I'll mount in front of it. Its smaller, so I'll offset it to the driver's side. So my kids can still walk around to get to the third row instead of crawling over it. The EB that I am getting has the stock seat, but also comes with a new Fold-n-tumble seat. I'll remove the stock seat, so both rows will fold and tumble forward. It'll be a tight squeeze, but they will deal with it. With the car seats, they won't be sitting low to the floor, so they don't need as much leg room.
I put bucket seats out of a 80s ford tempo in the back of mine. I was able to bolt them in using the stock mounts on the seats and they are adjustable and work great for car seats. You could make a seat to go between the front seats or get a 60/40 bench seat for the front
