Guys, I have a problem here. Need some help and thank you in advance.
I got my F100 and it was locking front wheel. Turned out someone swapped the front end and welded wheel studs. "Welder" did a bad job and wheel studs broke, locked the wheel...
I want to get the new hubs and put new studs. Current hubs won't hold the studs as they should. There is a minor damage and I don't want to weld.
Mechanic said it is Dana 44 High Pinion front end.
What I don't know is for what truck (year, make, model) I should get the hubs and studs since this one is not original?
I went to several auto stores and they say unless they know what car they should be looking up in the computer, there is not much they can do.
I would go to junk yard, but it is a problem in here, they are not self-service.
I post some photos in case they may help.
Many thanks in advance! Once this is fixed, it can go back on the road to discover what else it needs
F100AL - I mentioned in a post on your other thread that I don't believe that disk brakes were an option on 4x4 69 F100s. I have looked high and low for an easy swap and the best I could find was a GM/Chevy swap since they used the same Dana 44 front axle and offered a disk option. You may have GM parts on the end of the original Ford supplied axle. It seems you can also do a full axle swap from a later 70s F150 - https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/4...sc-brakes.html
I don't know how extensive the swap is when moving to the GM disk setup, it may involve changing the hubs. In any case, there are some parts there that are NOT off a 69.
NumberDummy is you best resource for the identity of original Ford parts.

Yes Paul, this is definitely not original. I was able to get 82 F100/F150 hub assembly. Now need to get bearings and should be ok (hopefully!). Thank.
recently worked this problem. upgraded a 3/4 ton with a 1/2 axle like in your picture. Frame width is a question!!! the radius arms width might be a issue if frame width is different. I ended up doing a 3/4 ton dana 44HD and converted to coilspring just wanted a heavy tube 44 for my application. the axle in photo is probably a mid 70's 1/2 ton. Also you can upgrade to 3/4 ton spindles if wanting to upgrade to heavier axles. ran this setup on my 1/2 ton 44 with 8 lug setup. if any questions drop a message!
You have a 76-79 F-150 Dana 44 high pinion axle with disc brakes. You found a rotor from a Twin Traction Beam Dana 44 which has a few common parts with the straight axle 44. For more information, check this: Dana 44 Solid Front Axle: Part 1 Reverse Spiral Housing
Another thing to check is your front axle ratio to make sure it is the same as the rear. Check for the tag under a bolt on the cover, or if missing, count the teeth of the ring and pinion gears and divide for the ratio.
