Seat covers

Thinking I need some seat covers for the X and have looked at the wet oakle, and have priced them out for the neoprene covers.
The dilemma is, for about the same price I can get the factory type leather covers, and a fello ford owner swears by the factory ford leather.

I have not ever had leather seats in my vehicles and have always thought of them as cold in the winters, and would probably add heaters to the front 2 seats.

I also still have kids in car seats and don't know how the leather would stand up to the car seats.

Are there other better options than factory leather that won't cost an arm and a leg for feel, and wear and tear?

Opinions of either leather, or neoprene covers are welcomed, pro or con.

Leather will be affected by car seats. Put a towel between the seat and the leather if you go that route.

I love Wet Okole seat covers. I have a set on my Lightning and they're great, but like anything, they will develop wear patterns over time.

Leather is cold in the winter, and I don't have winter temps like you do.

Leather is also hot in the summer, in direct sunlight. Don't sit down on them wearing shorts.

When I can afford it I'm going all OEM leather on mine, replacing the foam same time.

I bought leather seat covers for the X for all rows back in 2006 and they still look brand new and no wear. I got them from www.styleconcepts.com I paid $600 for all 3 rows but cant remember the name of them. If I get the chance to find a tag on them Ill post it.

Well I ordered the colour swatch of the katskins leather. We shall see how that comes along.
Quick pricing ran just over $1600. Leather on all 3 seats and heat for the front 2 in a 2 tone combo.

I am contemplating the same thing. My original leather is in bad shape (previous owner didn't take care of it and had a dog). I really like the leather, but I beleive I can cover all three rows with wet okoles far cheaper, but I may be wrong on pricing. Never really had good experiences with seat covers fitting well enough for my liking. I am interested to see which route you take, Wallz!

I had the neoprene in a Vette & they arent terribly attractive

I'd go w factory leather, w a heater theres no issue re cold seats

Just put a towel under the child seat and the leather will be fine

I prefer leather just because it's easy to clean.
It does take a little bit of work to keep them last long term.
Leather needs to be treated with a conditioner on a regular basis. This way it stays nice and soft and hardly wears.
If you let it dry out, it wears quickly.
I am in Arizona and it isn't hot in summer. Use the heater in winter, but I hardly need that here of course. Colder climates you would.

I bought a replacement front seat bottom drivers side and arm rest cover from these guys. The color and fit are a perfect color match and fit. They have videos that show you how to install their stuff. Since they are not far from me, I drove over and had them install for me.

Looks like a good business, but I tried as search and they don't make a replacement for the X second row seats!

Well I got the katskins swatch in the mail today. Man it's going to be a hard choice in colour for the leather seats.
Not fully decide on what, leather, or neoprene, but I gotta start somewhere.

I got the Coverking Neoprene Wetsuit, absolutely FANTASTIC, exactly what I was hoping for. I got it through Costco's website (note the link to BUY is only available from the MOBILE website, kinda weird but hey whatever works) they have a sale for $100 off. It was a really good deal and fit is excellent. I couldnt be happier.

I ordered some seat heaters this last week off eBay.
Got the new style carbon fiber type, less prone to failure if one wire goes out. Only $33 each. I ordered 4 as I might do the second row seats also. Still debating this.
Now the debate of switch placement. In stock area on seat or on dash.
