best trans for conversion

i have a 94 150 2wd 5.0 with a 40r70w trans that i keep having issues with so i decided to do a swap. i have a good idea what i will need as far as tranny bellhousing crossmember drivesshaft pedal assembly starter flywheel clutch fork and i know im missing something else. what i found at the junktard was another 94 with a straight six with a 4spd with od. would this be a good trans for the swap. what would be the pros and cons of this trans also is there a better trans for this swap. also i know i need to swap computers would the 4.9 comp work or do i need a 5.0. any help or opionions will help thanks

You woud need a 5.0 computer for a manual trans truck. I think that tranny you are talking about is the m5od,not a real strong tranny,it might hold up behind a stock 5.0 if you don't thrash it.
