I'm trying to prep my truck for a paint job by removing as much of the trim as I can. Its a 79 150 XLT lariat, so there is frigin chrome trim everywhere on this truck. I figured out how to get the long pieces on the side of the truck (both top and bottom) off after searching posts and finding intructions on that. Now I am scratching my head trying to figure out how the drip rail trim comes off, and the trim along side the back of the cab below the rear window level.
Any thoughts on that?
2nd part question: On some of the trim pieces that are bolted on like the thin trim along the bottom of the truck going over the wheels and such, when removing the nut teh clip in the trim would turn and just pop free of the trim. I went ahead and took the nut off and the clip thing which has a small piece of wire like a tension spring on it. How to they go back into the trim for reinstallation? Or do I just start the nut and when it tightens up will it lock into the trim?
