I have a 78 F-150 Lariat 4x4. I'm replacing the bed, because of rust. Mine is a dual tank with race track trim and tool box on passenger side.
The new bed is a rust free dual tank with race track trim.
My truck also has the chrome trim along the bottom from cab to back of bed, like maybe a XLT Ranger model. I have the original invoice on the truck and don't see where they ordered the extra trim.
I have a 78 Dealers book, and I don't see the Lariats with it on them.
It suppose it could have been added by some previous owner but looks factory.
When I change beds I'm going to remove it from the cab and front fenders for a cleaner look.
Does any one else have a Lariat with this trim one from the factory ?
Would you try and cut the tool box out of old bed and put on new or should I leave well enough alone ?
That side of the bed is the soild .
Hi I have a F-150 Lariat that has both sets of chrome and a had a F-250 that had it also, maybe it was a F-150 but anyhow yes that is factory if you pull any of it off you will see that the mounting holes are square not round.Hope this helps
