Knocking
Hey again......I love this truck and motor but it always keeps you hopping . I have a knock that started all of the sudden. The oil pressure is good, it runs great, doesnt smoke, and the knock seems to be either in front or pass side and high at least by the naked ear. I loossened most of the injector lines and noise was not effected. I have read some past posts and saw where the flex plate could cause this and the injector/s also but could it be the water pump going . It doesnt leak yet will the bearings sound that way (digging for hope lol) .The knock is more easily heard at an idle just because of the noise but it is there at higher idle too. i pull for a living and have worked it hard and we turned the pump down 2 flats cause it smoked while under load and it helped alot without losing power. That was over a month ago. I havent done anything other than drive it since but money is funny right now so any help is appreciated

dude ive had the samething going on and i have poked around with a automotive stethoscope and cant find the exact location. ive taken it to a buddy thats a diesel mechanic and a hes a good one and he said its nothing to worry about but i have a manual tranny and to tell you truth i think its coming from the tranny but im unsure so please post what you find.
