I have a 2002 ford f-150 4.2 liter v6. When i press on the gas the car shudders and struggles and you can here a popping sound it does it worse in higher gears when i shift early I've replaced air filter fuel filter spark plug wires and plugs were replaced within 10,000 miles even one of the plug wires was broken and even having replaced them still the problem occurs please help!!

 

Any help would be so appreciated i don't have a ton of money to put into this right now and i really would love to get it running right

 

If the popping sound is coming from the intake / air filter area , it may be a lean pop . Ck fuel pressure .

Stop where you are. The 1st thing you should do is confirm engine timing all aspects that include plug wires! If you continue with the steps you are attempting you could spend a lot of unnecessary money not to mention damage to engine!
