I am curious, The F8 will accept anybody's tunes? if that is the case, can it be used to load both DP and TS style tunes through the Infinity??
Yes, the F8 will accept anybodies tunes. The tunes aren't actually loaded onto the Infinity from the chip. Instead, the Infinity works as a switching unit. As stated above, our CEI-HUB will work with all current day multi-position chips. This means you can run the Infinity and change tunes with it regardless of what chip or tunes you are running.

I see, I was thinking the tunes were loaded to the Infinity and it would load the chip..with that being said..will it write any tuners tunes through the ob-2??
Awesome! I am going to get my tunes on a chip so i can change them on the fly and see if Jody can tweak a couple things and this rig should ready to go. The one thing i have noticed is when my truck is cold it is a dog it will not get out of its own way until i reach operating temp. Then takes off like a rocket ship! But before it warms up i have to brace my self for gear changes it hits so hard i think the dash is going to hit me in the lap gear changes are violent. But once it does man my truck is finnaly fun to drive but going to need tires soon.

Yeah, the Infinity does not even know what the tunes are. It will simply just be able to switch positions. You can name them through the Infinity though. This way they won't just be "position 1", "position 2", etc... You will instead be able to name the positions whatever you want, such as "Economy", "Performance", etc...
Currently, we are the only ones licensed to put tunes on the Infinity by the manufacturer. This may change in the future, but that is no guarantee.

The lack of power you are feeling when the engine is cold is a safety feature built into the tune. It disables you from wrecking your engine because of the thick cold oil and other parameters that are adjusted by the PCM when the engine is cold. The transmission shifting should not be extremely harsh however. Shoot Jody an e-mail and let him know what is going on. I am sure he will get you all figured out.
Justin, one of the guys mentioned a hub to add more inputs so you can run more sensors (dual egt, ect.) or almost everything to the infinity, do you know when this will be available, or is it already available?

The CEI-HUB will be available very shortly. All of the testing was completely last week and now we are just waiting for our shipment of product to come in. As soon as it does, it will be available for purchase
Rich, last time I checked, the quarterhorse is not all that expensive. Its the software to actually be able to use its datalogging and mirroring qualities that is the trouble.
I'm sure Justin will be able to fill in more, but I could imagine that creating an interface between the infinity and quarterhorse could be quite troublesome. Not because the two pieces of hardware would have a hard time talking to each other, but because the quarterhorse is meant to be used as a chip, but it is also the hardware used to live tune. Because of this I could imagine that a special software would have to be written to interface between the infinity and the quarterhorse for datalogging purposes that wouldnt allow modification of maps and parameters.
Basically, from my understanding, the quarterhorse is simply a chip on steroids as Tugly already said, but also has the capability to live stream a mirror of the PCM to whatever is connected to it. I know of a couple of guys that use the quarterhorse exclusively. Both are self tuners, and I believe that the quarterhorse stays attached to the PCM at all times, and has a USB cable as well as a switch. When live tuning the USB cable is hooked up to the laptop, so that the PCM can be viewed in real time and modifications can be made in real time, but then the files that are generated can be saved to the quarterhorse itself and when unplugged from the laptop it can function as a chip with, I believe, 4 positions on it.
Again, everything above is simply my understanding of the software and the hardware, and I may be wrong on some parts or all of it. I'm sure those that know for a fact will/can chime in and correct any mistakes that I have made.
love this thread..i just got mine and its great..Yes with the hub it becomes the controller for the F6 chip and be change on the fly. I am still wondering about the TS chip though.. I need a abbreviation chart to tell me what the acronyms are and what they are for
If you click on the guage you want, It'll go to set guage properties. Select the signal and it will bring up a list you can change the guage to and these are spelled out so you know exactly what your choosing for each guage.
OP and the rest of you that have the Infinity, glad you like it!
So far all of the info I have seen posted in this thread is correct. To answer the one question I have not seen answered by someone else... Yes, the Infinity will be able to change positions on any current day chip. This would include our chips(F5, F6, F8), TS chips, SCT chips...
If any of you have any questions at all about the Infinity, feel free to contact me. I would be happy to help you out with any questions you may have.
Oh, and to the Infinity owners that haven't done this already, go to our website and download the custom themes that we have made. There are a couple Ford match themes that will match your gauge cluster(one for daytime and one for night time). I am very close to creating one that is a combination of the day and night versions so you will not have to switch between themes. Instead, you will just change screens.
That sounds very cool. I love the Ford night theme but it's a little hard to see during the day. (Hence NIGHT THEME).
Justin, one of the themes has digital guages in the center of the analogs. Would it be possible to do that with the Ford theme? I'm thinking I would like my analog that has my EGT to show a good sized digital in the center. Maybe two of them when I get dual EGT sensors.

awesome! I will hopefully be getting one over the summer!

You are pretty correct on your thoughts about connecting the QH to the Infinity. Jody and I have talked about this and he informed me of the amount of work and time it will take. He said it would be a ton of configuring, but it is possible. This would be only for datalogging though.
Jody has also said that the QH does not allow a switch for us since we are 4 bank. It does allow 2 tunes that you can switch between with Binary Editor. It allows live tuning and live extremely fast datalogging.
Jody has been using the original and first QH ever made for 6 years, since he is the one who had them made.

Yeah. I am just running into a problem with the theme making software where it will not let me change button colors and value colors for different screens. As of right now, you would have to manually change all of the values on the Night screens to green. I have done this on my Infinity, but it takes quite a while to do. I would be happy to send you a copy of the theme as it is now though.
Yes, I can add digital gauges inside of the analog gauges. Just shoot me an e-mail letting me know what you want and I will get it done. I work on Infinity themes at night when all other work is done.

Sounds good. Let me know if you have any other questions about it.
thanks for all the help Justin i probably will have more questions but will probably speak to you or somebody from DP about it when i get closer to the purchase date

No problem. We would be happy to answer any questions you can think of between now and then.

Sounds good. might be a week or so, trying to get my truck back together this week. Just got my t500 and ebpv rebuild kit today plus installing oil bypass, frx, hpx, exhaust donughts, uvch harness, and a few other things plus I work about 60 hours a week.. On top of that they're callin for rain off and on all week and the truck won't fit in the garage
