I have a 96 f150 with the m5od and I want to upgrade to the hurst shifter but i can only find kits for the m5od of the ranger here is a link to the kit.
It'll probably fit in the transmission, but the Rangers have very low seat-heights compared to full-sized trucks. It'd likely be quite a reach to the shifter.
it wont fit you have an r2 thats for an r1 they bolt up different from the research of done looking for a short throw for mine as well
I was wondering about that. I really want a better shifter but at the same time I wonder about the longevity of my transmission and wonder about possible replacements.
I've been doing more checking and called ford with a ranger vin and an my trucks vin it appears the bottem parts for the shifters are the same so the 5020 would work it appears. also jegs has both install instructions up online and it appears many of the pitures are out of the same truck so im assuming theyd be same as well
Kinda have to duck down to get it but not super low can still see fine definatly gonna figure a way to get longer handle soon and it feels almost like a slotted shifter compared to stock its a ton shorter for me. I really like but if you haven't driven the m5od much I think you'd be hutting more than normal
