Hi this is my first post I hope this question hasnt been asked 1000 times.
My boss owns a 56 F100 and is looking for a good set of headers for it. It has a 351C in it and would like a solid set of headers. The truck is lowered but not slammed. I was hoping you guys could point me in the right direction.
Alot depends on clearence and how much he has. If he is running a straight axle up front it shouldn't be too hard to fit. Aftermarket or clipped front end opens up a whole can of worms. At that point it's pretty much trial and error. Somebody else should chime in with what has worked for them. BTW welcome to FTE and don't get discouraged if you don't get an answer right away some folks will actually do some checking before they answer so you get good info.
Greetings and welcome to FTE !!! If your friend gets sticker shock on the price of full-lenghth headers (if that's what he decides to go with), let me know. I have a pair of Doug Thorley chrome headers for sale. They only have 2,000 miles on them but I can no longer use them since the installation of my IFS.
Just make sure the exhaust ports on the 351 Cleveland are the same as a 289/302/351 Windsor. That's what my headers will fit.

Great forum here, so fire away with the questions!

Again Thanks for the warm welcome
I'm not certain (though I wouldn't be suprised if the exhaust ports are different on the Cleveland), but I thought I'd make the info available just in case I could sell them to an FTE'r in lieu of someone else. Lookin' after the Team 1st...

The cleveland headers will be bigger you also have to specify 2bbl or 4bbl when buying cleveland heads and anything that bolts to them. If you don't know how to tell them apart look at the corner of the head right by the valve cover on the intake side front there will be a 2 or a 4 cast there.

If my info serves me, don't Windsor heads use 6 valve cover bolts and Cleveland heads use 8 valve cover bolts?
Thanks for the info, that helps clear things up...

the difference between the 2v and the 4v cleveland heads are HUGE too. I have a set of 351 heads in my garage and they are tiny compared to the 4V Cleveland.
I have a 32vDOHC 4.6 in my 96 Cobra now so I have kinda lost touch with the pushrod world.
