video signal switcher?

Guys,

I am looking for a multi-port VIDEO signal switcher. The head unit I am looking at has oned camera connection.

I have 2-3 cameras and I want to be able to switch between then.

I am looking for a switch or switcher that lets me manually select which cam sends the signal to the HU.

I keep finding chinese CRAP!!! Anyone know of a name-brand unit?

thanks!!!

Most auto electronics these days will sadly be Chinese made junk--after all its always just about price right? Well for most it is any way!

I'd look to a pro audio/video seller or manufacturer as they'll have well made switchers even though those too will be imported. A few years ago I was a bit better informed on this subject but since its changing so rapidly most of the names I knew then have gone out of business or been absorbed by other conglomerates.

Going the better quality pro level stuff will be difficult only in supplying power to the switcher---might have to find or use a small inverter.

Just so SICK about all the stuff made in China!!! I realize many of the electronic items, even if made in America, are still produced in China. However, the name-brand companies actually have quality control measures to keep the stuff from being junk.

I would rather pay $90 for a US-manufactured switcher over a $20 China-made version. I found one that may fit the bill, but I'm trying to find more information on it. Does this mean every single thing I buy is US-made. No, but I certainly do my homework and TRY to do that.

Yes, the "price" is what drives sales, regardless of country of origin. That's why Wal-Mart, stocked full of overseas manufactured items - ESPECIALLY Chinese made, has flourished for decades because of the value of the dollar!!! Most families can only afford to shop there. Well, we see how we screwed ourselves on that one!!! Just wait until we make minimum wage $9/hour - what a JOKE!!!

But I digress...enough of that talk!!

I am sure there are better-quality switchers to be found, but most of my Google searches turn up these China made items. Guess I need to dig a little deeper!!!

Oh trust me on your digression---I could (and have) write a lot about the proliferation of Chinwanese crap flooding our shores thanks in part to the American public's short sighted view of things---"cheaper is better, especially for ME, screw all those spoiled workers here!" kinda mentality.

Try this link although most likely its far outside what you want to spend, at least that specific item. From here you might find brand names or generic terms that'll make a Google search more productive: Production Switchers| B&H Photo Video
