I have an 03 7.3L, and I am having a small battery drain of around 100 milliamps. I pulled all of the fuses in the fuse box last night, and nothing killed the battery drain. At this point I am wondering if I have a bad ground connection. Has anyone had experience tracking down all the possible ground connections I should check? I am assuming I at least need to start with the alternator and starter.
There is an alpine system, a DVD player in the ceiling, and a remote starter. I figured if any of those systems were the issue that I would see it when pulling the fuse for the circuit they are on.
A ground issue should not cause an amp drain . If all factory components have been ruled out , look at aftermarket accy. Disconnect Each component one at a time , Keep Alive also ! , and see what happens to the draw .
Note , I stated Keep Alive . Many aftermarket devices have extra power connections for that function . They may be hidden and not connected to the fuse box .
