Dodge tranny compatability

Does anyone know if Dodge used the same B/W T-18 tranny as Ford. What I am wondering is if the input shafts are the same. I know I will have to change the yoke, but I really don't want to change the input shaft. I'd rather look for a Ford tranny instead. It will be going from a '78? slant 6 half ton Dodge to a '79 F-350 w/'71 429. Thanks for any help.

What's wrong w/the tranny in the 79 350? I don't know if they are the same or not but a good 4 speed for in the 350 shouldn't be hard to find.

1st and reverse work good. 2nd is making some noise, 3rd is so loud you almost need earplugs, and 4th is almost as bad. It has about 285,000 hard miles on it.

I got the Dodge tranny for free and I know it is in real good shape. It will be another two or three weeks before I can get to it and compare trannys. I just hate to take a known good tranny to a salvage yard and trade it for an unknown tranny if I don't have too.
