Yes except the extension housing is shorter.

And looking at the reverse idler shaft and counter shaft in the pic the one denoted 1960/ looks like mine as it has separate roll pins for each shaft

So it appears that you have to order the entire assy to get that part you need. that is what the star refers to.

That should be closer to yours then? the only difference should be the tail shaft though.
My 59 came with the three speed with the long tail piece.

That is the one. Thanks for the exploded diagram!!! So I take it from what you are saying that the 7106 is only available with assembly 7124.

Yeah the part is superseded by the synchro assy part number according to its star

I would definitely recommend the parts catalog. they aren't too spendy for what you get I think i paid 25 or something for an electronic version

I am going to invest in the catalogs but since I'm not sure what year this transmission is out of I didn't want to buy the wrong one. I will be buying one for the year of the truck which is 1964.

Honestly I don't think my shop manual is useful at all. I would stick with a parts catalog which unfortunately might mean you need two...

I guess I will tell my buddy to by one for his year and I will buy the earlier one.
