302/351W swap help
First, I am sorry. I know this subject has been beat to death...
I have a 1991 F150 Std Cab XLT Lariat with 302/E4OD. The truck has 177k miles, 3" lift w/ 33x12.50s.
I have replaced the tranny/Xfer case and am now eye ballin the power plant. I have been thinking about this for about 4 years so its kinda over due, in that time I have scoured this and every other f-150 forum out there, just when I think I have it figured I read some post saying someother post is incorrect--and what appeared to be common knowledge was allegedly wrong.
What I know: 351W will fit. I want MAF so I am going newer.
What I need to know: Need the newer computer? Need the newer harness? Accessory & bracket interchangeability? When I yank the doner motor what else do I need to snag?
I am a seasoned mechanic...but on aircraft. I have done a lot of work on this ole truck but havent attempted a motor swap before. Are there guides for this change over out there that I can pick up for referance in case I forget to label or overlook something?
Thanks in advance...also once this process starts I plan on documenting in painstaking detail along with pictures start to finish.

If you want simple don't try to do a MAF swap at the same time, get the motor in and working and upgrade the EFI system later.
You need a complete 5.8 EFI motor oilpan to throttlebody, very few parts are interchangable except for the accessory brackets and the water pump. For 100% plug and play compatibility get one from the same year truck, but it's generally accepted the '94+ 5.8 is the best performing version and it can be swapped in with a simple distributor mod and lower intake swap. DO NOT use any wiring that comes with the donor motor just connect the 5.0 harness to the 5.8 and plug in a 5.8/E4OD computer, the only other part you'll need is a 28oz E4OD flexplate though the exhaust Y pipe will have to be widened as well.
