computor bypass

computor bypass

does anyone know how to bypass the computor on an 85 ford f150 with 300 6?

Not bypass, but eliminate... yes! This has been done by many who were working with trucks [1984-1986] which had non-working feedback systems, either due to old age or previous owners having removed or disabled some or all of the emmissions equipment. Much depends on whether or not your vehicle will be required to pass an emmission test.

Use the "search" feature and type in Duraspark2 or Duraspark conversion and sit back and read!

Get a older style duraspark II distributor and module with the blue grommet, and preferably get a older style carb also.

I did it get some side cutters and go to
work.get the ds 2 module and a distributor.

If you don't switch all of it, Carb included, you will never get it completely right. I don't remember what the fail safe mode for the FBC is, but I think on a Ford it is lean, GM and Chryslers fail rich with no control.

No, it does go rich without the computer/electrics connected, Bill.
I had mine off a few days ago to blank the choke hot-air port, & checked it at the time.
