hey i grenaded my transmission its a 4eod, 5.4L engine 150000kms
im a heavy duty mechanic, i dont have a problem tearing the transmission out, just wondering if there are any tricks to make it easier and anything that could be a problem when i get it done, its my everyday driver and i need need it back, im driving one of the shops chevies (insert sad face here) lol is there anything i can do to prevent the next tranny from grenading this early? is there something else i should put in, if so what would i have to change to make it work

When I had my '04 5.4 trans rebuilt at 90,000, the shop showed me my input shaft, and it had about a 1/3 twist in it, he said if you drive a 5.4 hard (like I do) it is hard to get 100,000 out of one, he said every crown vic police car he tears down looked like mine...

well i am very conservative with it, but im the second owner and ive only put 30k on it, so i cant honestly say what the truck has seen, input shaft will be replaced with the trans though, so i should be good, do you have any tips on takin it out and puttin the new one in though?
