2008 E450 RV with 11,000 miles with power lose on acceleration. Being told after replacing fuel filter and fuel pump that now cause is rust in fuel tank.
I have a e450 2005, 31ft class c rv with 6,000 miles, had to have the throttle block replaced, I didn't know it was a v10, I've been using regular gas with no problem except for power. After replacing the throttle block it pings real bad even with premium gas, not sure what's up with that, I will add an octane additive to see if that helps
Fuel tank was replaced and problems solved after spending $3,200. and 5 nights stay in hotel/meals. How can a 2008 RV that was finished in 2009 have rust in the tank? Is FORDS quality that bad? I was told it was because I didn't keep the tank full while in storage for 4 months. I guess we have the very first RV ever that sat for four months and FORD didn't take that into consideration when they marketed this vehicle. (NOT) FORD has stated they will not help us. That's unfortunate as we are members of a group with membership of 1.3 million and a quarterly magazine that welcomes stories.
I think you can put some of the blame on our fuel. The ethanol makes the fuel go bad very quickly. It seperates from the gas, it also draws water.
5 years does seem like a short time to have rust that severe.
kinda strange huh? My 1952 IH "H" sat all winter with a couple of gallons in it and started up like it was run the day before. The gas tank hasn't been touched since 73 and probably not before then either.
