So I was watching a show called Top Gear. Not the popular British one, the newer american one. The 3 guys were going to Iceland to do what no one has been able to do since 2010. Drive a vehicle to the summit of an active Volcano. The only vehicles that have ever made it close to the summit were vehicles specially designed for the trip. Arctic Trucks pretty much.
These guys had to pick american 4x4 trucks to test it out.
One of the guys just so happens to have got a 79 bronco decked with a 460 and 44 inch tires. It's been modified a lot and looks totally awesome.
A stick, I can only assume a t-18. Nice dash.
The other 2 trucks were a 1973 International Scout 2 with 44 inch tires and a 318 motor, and a 1984 Chevy K30 with a 6.2l NON turbo diesel motor and 49 inch tires. The Chevy was a pickup so they had all the fuel barrels strapped in the back. All 3 trucks made it too the summit after getting stuck in the snow a lot and barely making it through a white out.
It was an awesome episode and this is the second time a Bronco has made a debut. The first time was a 90s and it ended up in terrible shape. The rear axle had fallen apart and it hardly made it through the show.
Anyways, I would have posted a link to the episode but it just came out today so it hasn't made it to youtube or other.
I watched it! It was on the History Channel at 8PM Central Time. It will be re-run in about 40 minutes from now, at midnight Central time, I assume 1AM Eastern time.
I'm gonna have to youtube this, I dont care for the American version last time they had a nice Bronco they absolutely destroyed it and I got pissed off lol.
Yeah I was sad to see the 96 die but when I saw the commercials for this episode and saw the tires alone, I recorded it. Then I learned about the bronco in it and couldn't take my eyes off it. It was awesome.
I have to send thanks to the guys at Top Gear. After watching that episode with me and seeing that Bronco my wife told me I need to get my butt out in the garage and get my 78 running. I told her I need some more funding and she said she would make that happen as long as I promised to take her to the beach in it this summer. I guess its time to clean the garage so I have room to work on the Bronco again. Wonder where I put the list of things I need to do to it???

Haha very good. I wonder if they are selling that 79.. From seeing the BBC Top Gear, they store the vehicles on a lot and that's about it.
