Readers can also safely assume I don't think "the SD vans" are anything remotely like a "*car*".

Wish OP good luck installing an extra rear bench seat & hope to read report on what is found under the carpeting in terms of factory installed re-enforcements to accept FORD Quick Release seat brackets.
Have yet to read confirmation which model year Club Wagons have factory installed under floor re-enforcements for both 7/8 passenger & 10/12 passenger seating configurations.
My preference is for OEM rear 4 passenger bench/bed installed in '92-? Club Wagon, but discontinued on later models. Still not sure how big a deal it would be to install this stock item in, say an '04?
We picked the van up this weekend and are very happy with it. The dealer blew the battery up and got acid on the fender and ruined the paint, but I can paint it myself so no big deal. It needed a new coil, battery, alternator and tires. I got them to knock $500 off and replace the bad parts and change the oil to make up for it.
