Hey guys, here is an interesting one for you. When I am driving my truck I feel like I am working with maybe an inch and a half of range between the gas pedal being fully pressed and depressed.
My first thought was that the return spring is worn out, which may be part of the problem. But if it was the whole problem I wouldn't think I would have to practically floor it before the engine responds. Could it be possibly be slack in the gas pedal line? If so, is that difficult to adjust?
can't really adjust the throttle cable as they get stretched over use, and they have crimped on ends. i just buy a new one. it will feel great like new

After rewording my search in google many times I found this mod:
I was going to mention the zip ties last night when I saw this thread, but I think I was too tired to respond.
It worked on my ranger when I was looking for a bit more pedal. I haven't really felt the need to try it on my current truck as I rarely run out of pedal in normal driving. There does seem to be some slack in the cable though, so I might try it some time.
Also have to say what moron called that a "zip tie" mod, then don't use zip ties????
