I have a 2008 6.4 powerstroke. And one day i noticed it had a little blow by so i took it to a dealer ship to have it looked at...they said they couldnt determine anything unless they tore the motor down some....so they took the heads off and the oil pan off....did compression tests and everything....and then told me the motor was perfectly fine but that i meed a new fuel system because there was a little water in my tank...well after 10,000$ to replace the fuel system i get the truck back and my sending unit isnt working and they said its not there fault..but i said ok whatever because it took almost 2 months for them to do the fuel system...but now only 3,000 miles since i picked it up from them my truck goes into limp mode....so i drop it off at another dealership and they said its about 2 quarts low on oil and that the oil thats in it is very black and gummy.....then they estimated 16,000$ for a new motor....but just 3000 miles ago everything was perfect.....
Do yall think i could file a lawsuit on this....i think they put it back together wrong and my insurance just gave out 10000 and my truck is not fixed
This is terrible and I am positive not a isolated case. It is one of the reasons I would not own a modern diesel because It would bankrupt me to have something like that happen to me. As Redford stated we cannot discuss or give someone legal advice. I guess I would contact Ford first and see what advice they give you on what steps to take. If that gets you no where then you have to do what you have to do. My dad has a 2008 6.4 as well and I am just waiting for the call that he is in the same boat as you. Good luck and keep us posted just not about the legal stuff...
