Autozone will let you check out a scanner for free? Wow, I did not know that. Will have to check into that. Would make diagnosing the problem a lot easier! thanks for the tip Hank! Won't let me rep you yet, I have to spread the love some more.
Jim I thought I read somewhere that autozone has a scanner to check for free. Worth looking into.
I`m off for an install today 1047`which will finish out my week.
Hank that sounds like a lot of wood, get r done bro
Pretty sure on the scanner there not available in Cali, I went to get one a while ago and was told they don't offer them because of a lawsuit against AutoZone, but I might be wrong. Sorry Jim but I'll take the reps if I'm right...
If it will drive most parts stores and oil changers will read codes for free. I'm not sure how well they read on the bronco but most of those cheap scanners wont read on a diesel...
Haven't checked on the Bronco yet, woke up this morning and it was pouring rain, so I will attempt to check it this weekend. I'll call an Autozone and see if they will let me use a scanner, if not, I'll go somewhere else.
Kragen/Oreileys Auto Parts will run the scan for you in their parking lot. But you'll probably get multiple codes, as once one code is sent others tend to follow as a result. Sometimes it can get a little tricky, trying to sort through the codes to figure what came first, chicken or egg.
