Intake blower motor?

So I have this blower motor that's from an old car that I parted out a few years ago. It was originally used for an air cooled motor and still runs well. I've been trying to sell it without any luck.

I was wondering about using it to help keep a steady supply of air to the engine? I don't know if that would be considered a "forced air" intake or not.

I ask because a couple years ago, I worked on an '87 4.9 that had an intake blower motor on it. It didn't work and the hoses were junk, but I was reminded of that when I found this blower motor.

Since I have it at my disposal, I just wondered about installing it on my pickup. I just don't know what benefit, if any, would come from doing so.

Does anybody have more information on that set up? Would there be any benefits?

The blower motor on the 4.9 was used to cool the injectors on early model EFI systems to prevent vapor lock. A heat shield and an increase in fuel line pressure replaced the fan on later models.
A supercharger is a mechanical blower driven off the engine, usually the crankshaft.
A turbo supercharger is driven by the heat and velocity of the exhaust gases with a turbine that in turn is directly connected to a blower in the intake side. The faster the engine goes the more air is injected. Most will also have a pop off valve or wastegate to prevent over pressure.
Some have tried leaf blowers and other types of non engine driven induction systems but few can develop the needed pressure or a control system to work effectively.
I'm no expert and there's tons of info on the net.

No benefits, that thing can't move enough air to make any substantial amount of boost. It was just used to prevent vapor lock on early models, as mentioned above. It's more useful as a workbench fan or scrap metal than anything else.

Thanks guys.

I didn't really expect that it would bring me any increases in power or anything like that. I was just reasoning in my thought tank that the blower motor would be a good way to ensure a steady supply of air at all times. The increase and decrease in vacuum as engine speed changes is what I was focusing on. But now I also realize that the engine would still only be sucking as much air as the vacuum allows anyway....

So yeah, thanks guys.
