I have found a 1984 Bronco II 4X4 with an automatic transmission and a 2.8 V6 for $1000.00. The body is straight though the paint job is bad and there is some surface rust. Basically I am considering using it about like a 4 wheeler in the deer woods but it will be street legal. I haven't driven it yet but the owner SAID it runs and drives good, that remains to be seen. My question is, if it drives half way decent is it worth the price.....in your opinion. Thank you for your input.
I would agree $1000 is a good price as long as everything mechanically is working as it should, even with a rusty body. Prices really vary a lot with older vehicles so you have to look at what the seller's asking and what else you might be able to find for that money. I'll mention too, be careful with writting the rust off as surface only. If there are any bubbles there's a good chance there is a hole underneath, and then you're cutting and patching metal. Again though, $1000 sounds like a good price.
Thank you Josh, I really appreciate your input/opinion. I understand what you're saying about the rust and from what I have seen there are no bubbles anywhere I can find. The rust is in very large patches, like 65% of the hood and about 50% of the top. I attribute it to the old fading flaking paint job. I have an 88 F250 that I've owned since 1990 with the same condition. I went over about 70% of the Bronco with a magnet and couldn't find any place the magnet wouldn't stick so unless it is hidden really well I didn't find any "serious" rust. Again I thank you for your input/opinion gentlemen.

And to you sir.
Here in Michigan vehicles tend to rust from the inside out with bubbles as the first sign of an underlying problem. I've never experienced rust caused by Sun fading so thank you for that. I hope the B2 you're looking at turns out to be in good condition and would be interested to hear how it works out either way.
