Hi All, New member here just checking in. I'm coming over from the Ranger Station and am looking forward to trading knowledge/stories with those of you here. I'm an Architect by day but maintaining my vehicles has always been sort-of a hobby (sometimes obsession). Here's my stable:
1988 Bronco II Eddie Bauer: My baby, Bought about a year ago and just finished a complete body restoration including some other things, rebuilt engine by previous owner, completely stock.
1994 Ranger 2wd 2.3L: My daily transportation for 11 years now, bought in high school with 66,000 miles and now has 208,000, still running strong and looking good. Except for getting stranded with a broken timing belt years ago it's never been to a shop so I'm proud of what I've been able to do and learn wrenching on it myself (new core support, couple clutches, etc.).
1997 Taurus: The big silver tortoise, the family vehicle that my wife usually drives, bought totalled from my grandpa 5 years ago with light body damage for $200 and 80,000 miles, now has 124,000. Little bit of a headache lately with repairs and rust taking over but for what we paid I can't complain.
Anyway that's what I've got and what I happily spend hours working on. I look forward to becoming a hopefully valuable part of this community and to learn a lot from those of you, most of you, who know more than me.
Not much activity here in the B2 section. I kinda drift between TRS and pirate. Lots of good tech on pirate, but mainly extreme stuff. My truck is very mild compared to most.
Hi Country, Good to hear from somebody else on here. No, there doesn't seem to be much activity here from what I can tell so far. It's been difficult trying to find a B2 forum where other people share the same interests as me. Most of the forums seem to be more tailored to off roading and modding. I ended up leaving TRS because of some things that were going on there. I've been impressed with FTE so far, just wish there were more people posting.

Hell, I guess I missed that. I'm just not that active anymore, I have my truck where I want it. Made some friends locally on there. It just seems too many wanna go full blown extreme on their trucks. I'm too mild for that

I'll second that one! I bought mine about a year ago in good working condition with a rebuilt engine, repainted and striped it identical to how it was originally, and now just maintain it. It's hard because I'm a member on a forum centered around an old motorcycle I have and it's thriving with people interested in restoration. Then I talk to people about my truck and they're like, "Dude that would be really cool with a huge lift and v8".
Well I like modifications, but like you, offroading isn't one of them. I appreciate the stuff some do, just not my bag. I'm more a street person, with all my cars and such. I like older cars, so many of my mods tend in that direction, hence my '66 EB grille and white bumpers and wheels on my BII. I have even done something similar with my Ranger, '61 grille etc . But even though it's 4WD, I'm a street person mainly. When I wanted to add 3.08 gears everyone about fell off their seats trying to ask why and tell me I'm wrong I knew what I wanted. With a V8, no need for low gears, I want as best MPG I can get. Hopefully we can get some good conversations here. I can offer a lot.

Lots of people have left TRS because of the infantile, juvenile idiots who seem to abound there. The reference info there is really good, but the "community" there resembles a middle school playground at lunch time.
FTE is the civilized, adult version, where no one gets flamed for having a different idea.
