I recently installed it and the main thing I was interested in was the transmission temperature. My trans temp exactly matches my coolant temp so I'm thinking it's not correct. I'm wondering if anyone here has a fix for this or the correct PID equation...
Couple questions first: what is your temp reading, and if I am not mistaken your have the 6r80 like my '12? I am using the dashboss setup and get around 194-200 operating ect and 190-192 trans. Hope this helps.
I haven't used the app much, but when I start the truck, I can watch both gages (coolant and trans temp). The temperature on both is identical and updates simultaneously. If the temp goes up 1.3 degrees for example, it goes up that much on the other. They both are always the same even after total warm up.
Definitely sounds like something is amiss. My ect always warms up faster than the trans. Not sure how there customer support is, but I would contact them and explain what is happening. The manufacture might even have a forum you could interact with to get more info. I know you have committed to your product, but just as an example the staff at dashboss is very interactive with the consumer to either explain or correct issues. That might be a good place to start. Hope it helps and you get everything figured out.
This problem has been fixed!Over on the Torque forum, someone posted about this and the fix is to go into the 'Manage Exta PIDS' section and edit the 'Transmission Fluid Temp' PID. Scroll to the bottom where it asks for 'OBD Header'. Erase 'Auto' and type in 'TCM' without the quotes. Save and exit. This function now works perfect for me and I hope it helps others having the same problem!
