Thanks! Build quality on it is amazing. Someone really took their time on it, but what I don't understand is why ship something BARE. It had slight surface rust all over it that I had to scuff down before I got it to the powder coater. If I was to spend weeks building something, I would at least primer it before shipping. I think for a grand I should have gotten something that wasn't covered in surface rust. Also got no hardware or any sort of instructions or a "Thanks for ordering" note. It just had a sticker taped to it with my name and shipping address.
Back from the powder coating guy. I'm impressed with it. With the 3 day weekend coming up, I'll hopefully have this thing installed and have pictures of it soon
I'm wondering... Is it possible to powdercoat an entire truck? and the price for such feat?.
That bumper looks even better now, amazing!.
It's funny you mention this, because I asked the powder coating guy if he could do something like this if he wanted. He said his oven is big enough that he powder coated a whole dump bed. And not a dump bed on like a 1 ton truck. A huge semi dump bed. Not sure how much that cost but I know it had to be a lot. And he says he does car and truck frames regularly, so I doubt it would be much, if any, harder to do body panels. He said he wouldn't want to do exhaust pieces or anything engine related besides valve covers, though. Because powder coat acts as an insulator, it doesn't let heat dissipate very well
This thing looks sweet! I didn't have any hardened bolts and the place I usually go for my nuts and bolts didn't have the sizes I wanted so I put it in place with regular stainless bolts. So no winching for me just yet until I can find some good bolts
