I seen that, I'm already approved at my bank. I didn't want Ford to run my credit again. I had a lender tell me I didn't need a fith car, I told them that was none of their buisness. My bank pretty much wil do what I ask. I've bought a lot of vehicles through them.
Im shooting for at least 10k off MSRP.
I'm just going to use it for 3 months and then pay it off, good luck on 10K off MSRP.
I got 10k off sticker, but keep in mind I bought a '12 in December. They wanted to move out their 2012s. Financed through Ford Motor Credit.
We traveled with two couples this winter that bought 2012 6.7 and also got a good price because of closeout. With the 6.2 and the way we wanted it setup there was nothing anywhere that we wanted so we had to order.
New to the forum but I picked up the same model and MSRP out the door tax and tag 49k. I did not order the truck it was on the lot; I kept an eye on it for a few months and kept emailing the salesman. Then he called; I was there the next day with a check.
Hey ML I like your truck reminds me of mine. Sticker on this one was just short of 53K, I inked the deal right at 44. I really like it so far. I traded my 3.5 Ecoboost in on it.. Feel good and heavy on the road, more of what I want in a truck.
I have actually had about 5 F-150s in that timeframe and just did get my first Super Duty.
Matt will have to say that since getting the SD, I have been lurking around here for a little, and must say that this forum is very friendly due to folk like you.
I have other vehicles and always search forums for tips and maintenance. I dislike when someone asks a question and gets crucified by others. But I can say that you are very helpful and quick to assist with no insults or gripes - Just an honest thank you for being a great human being.
I will brag for a second and let all know that I changed all the spark plugs in my 5.4 with no breaks - again due to all the info gathered on forums. Take Care. Maybe Ill post again in a few years.
So now you all have me thinking. I have a good 6.4L and am contemplating buying a new rig. Mine is a daily driver, and I drag a 10,000 pound brick camping all summer. That said, I just can't get into paying $7800 for a diesel option. I bleed diesel, but think that a 6.2L may be a good option. If my figures are correct, I could drive the truck for 10 years before I blew the $7800 on gas to break even. Would I be happy?
I drive about 25k a year, and under 5k is towing. So if the majority is driving unloaded, I can't help thinking i'll miss the power of the diesel, and get sick of 14mpg quickly. Plus, I imagine resale on a higher- mileage 1-ton with a gas mill will be hard to offload next time. What are your thoughts on this? Im ready to do tires, shocks, and brakes shortly on my F250, but would rather save the cash as a deposit on a new rig if I can make up my mind. Have to say I'll miss the attention I get in my Harley Edition, but dont think a high level Platinum is in the cards this time.

I don't think you can go wrong with the 6.2, period. It's an outstanding engine and if you're towing 10k around, you're going to be pleased. You need to drive one to see how you like it but from what you're talking about for your usage, I don't see how you could go wrong. The initial buy-in price on the 6.7 is $8,095 now. When you factor DEF, higher priced maintenance, and a smaller fuel tank in the diesel, the 6.2 starts to make more sense. By the time it's said and done, buying the 6.2 is going to be cheaper than just the buy-in price for the diesel. In the long run, you will be able to buy a LOT of gas for the difference in price.
As far as getting rid of a higher mileage gas truck goes, I don't think you'll be hurt too badly. Looking at the retail / resale prices of later model (2005 - 2010) V10 trucks, they're holding value pretty darn well. Besides, there's no way of knowing what is going to happen to fuel prices between now and ten years from now. One thing that is certain though, the emissions laws are going to get tougher on diesels so in ten years you might have a better chance of getting a good price for a used 6.2 than you would a 6.7.
Don't get me wrong, I love my 6.7. The engine is amazing and it gets really good mileage. That said, I'm seeing the possibility of my next truck being a gasser.
I must say to all I really love the truck and the 6.2 engine; just not getting the mpg that everyone else posts. But when I tow my trailer it makes up for it all and well worth the extra gas $.
