Well guys it took 8 years but my '03 F-250 Super Duty 6.0 TD finally threw a code, it is P2268. Can anyone point me in a direction that can help me correct this. The engine still runs smooth but it is down on power about half. I pulled the EGR yesterday to clean it, there was only minimal dry looking soot on it, a light brushing and a puff of air and it was clean, wasnt stuck either. I run power service gray bottle every tank about double strength. It has 104000 miles. Thanx Robert
I had to search to find that code, but it's for a WIF circuit intermittent. Pull your water sensor on the HFCM and see if it's all crapped up. Nothing to indicate it will cause a derate. You may have some bad fuel. Do you have a fuel pressure gauge?
thanks npccpartsman for your help. I bought a scanner that will clear the codes also. With your thoughts in mind I changed the fuel filters (Motorcraft) and sprayed some brake cleaner around in the drain port of the HFCM, very little water or any type of crud came out. It ran fine for about half an hour and the derate condition came back, but the CEL isn't on. my scanner says TURBO/SUPER BOOST SYSTEM TROUBLE. I don't have a fuel pressure gauge. What pressure should I have? The truck is all stock as it came from Ford. Once again thanks for your help, any more of your or anyone else's thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanx Robert
