I have a 1996 Explorer and my wife told me yesterday that the headlights weren't coming on. After checking the fuses and headlight bulbs, they were all good. After further investagation I found out that when I pull the high beam lever toward me to flash my high beams the headlights would come on. When I pushed the lever away from me to put the high beams on I had no headlights. I do have a sensored mirror that makes the lights come on auto. and I also have the manuel switch to the left on the steering column. When I try both of those I still have no lights. I have been told that the problems is my heatlamp switch and it is in the steering column. If so has anyone ever replace one before and if so is it easy to change or would it be better to get a repair co. to fix it. They have quoted me 140.00. Also if someone thinks the problem could be somewhere else let me know that also. Thanks
