After 5 Days..

It wasn't easy, but she is almost level. I was not able to get the rear springs in like I wanted. I could not get the bolt out of the hanger on the passenger rear side. No matter what I did it would not come out. The bolt spins, the nut is off, but it will not come out. I finally got frustrated with it and put the F350 blocks and the RAS on it. This is how she turned out. I am just glad this part is over. Maybe one day I will pay someone to put the rear springs I have on.

More PB Blaster and a big 'ol hammer!

At least you were able to get her back together.

Man I have used a couple of cans on it. No room for a big ol hammer. I am thinking I just need to hook this thing up to a winch and go for it.

It is just crazy. I had to use a whole propane bottle on my bernzomatic to get the nut off. The thing just would not come off! I have a huge breaker bar with that and a cheater pipe it would not budge. After all the heat it finally turned.
Blasted bolt though, ugh. I can feel the bushing spin, well half of it anyway. I have pushed, pulled and pried not budging.
It is drivable right now. Glad I had that RAS laying around.

Cut and drill it out, I guess, when you get the time and feel like tackling it again.

It may also be that having loosened it up and driving around a bit will tweak it enough for you to get it out now.

I have been known to get a bottle jack in weird positions under a vehicle in order to force something into/out of place

Penetrating oil is only effective in some cases and 99.9% of it is wasted. Just squirting more at it is only in desperation. It is mostly effective when you can immerse the problem in it overnight by a saturated rag, etc.
Those spring bolts will spin forever and won't budge a bit even when banged on unless the pressure is alleviated. The spring has to have zero pressure against the bolt which is achieved by jacking the spring to the proper position and not twist it, then you can tap it right out. (It's in a bind).

Crap, Brent beat me to it. I was going to tell you to put a jack under it too.

Nope not in a bind. I had the whole axle weight off of it and all the nuts off both ends. I could move the whole spring around with just my hands. The bolt will turn, but it is very hard to turn it and it will not budge. I half think that the bushing melted around the bolt. When I get back from Germany I am going to see about renting an Interpac or something along those lines. I am sure a few bars of pressure on it will get it out.
I have to leave for work in a few days and pretty much just tired of it right now. It's all back together and the rake is not that bad. Once I get back I can soak it for a few days and then hit it with the interpac. Thanks for the info. I will not let an inanimate object beat me, just yet.

Wrap a rag soaked in penetrating oil around it overnight then use a 2 jaw puller.

Blue tipped wrench? When careful I've never had one let me down.

You can get a sawzall in there and cut them so you can get them out, expect to use about 10-15 blades. It can be done!

This will be my alternative, when I do the springs on my 00 XLT Ex.
Hopefully soon!

I've been wrenching on cars for years and the best investment I made was a good compressor and a good 1/2" impact gun (and good impact sockets so you don't round a nut or shatter a socket). I've had experiences where a huge (I mean like 4-5 foot long) breaker bar failed on a nut but the impact gun got it off. Bolts break free from the continual hammering of the impact gun better (in many cases) than a long breaker bar. Just my 2 cents...

I cannot believe I did not think about a puller! I have had one sitting in the bottom of my tool box.
I had to use the blue tip wrench to get the nut off. Worked great though!
I thought about sawzall that is going to be my last resort.
I have the impact, but not a big enough compressor to really beat on it. Big problem with doing this is I live in a gated community. Not sure I really got away with doing this job without getting fined in the first place. We shall see.
I am thinking my interpac idea will work and is always kind of fun to see stuck things finally give up.
