So I just figured out my gas mileage and it's at 8.7 MPG. Is this where other people are siting or should I be concerned?

That would be about right for winter fuel and mostly city driving.

Same here. I seen 8.5-9.0 all winter. Hubs locked with 4x4 use when needed. It gets better after they remove butane from the fuel. Not to mention letting that v8 or v10 warm up for a few everyday really affects mpg in a negative way

About right for a gasser in town. If you spend a lot of time on the highway you may have a problem.

Off topic, but did you know the late model "hemi" is not a hemi? It is actually a polyspherical head.

Yes, Mopar did make a Poly engine in the 50's and early 60's.

isnt these new "hemi" motors just the older magnum V8 motors with the spark plug through the heads?

Not at all. they are completely different.

They are also a semi-hemi design because a true hemi will not pass modern emission standards.

I have a 5.4L 2008 F250 long bed crew cab. I track every drop of fuel going in my truck since i bought it new ( for business purposes). Pulling 6000lbs i get 8 - 9. Pulling 5000lbs i get 9 -10. Driving around town unloaded I get 12 to 13 mpg. On the highway unloaded i get 15 to 16mpg. My best road trip unloaded with the wind behind me going down hill I got 17. Usually I get around 15 on pure highway mileage (unloaded).

I doubt that. Between modern technology and the design of a true hemi, I'm sure it would pass emissions.

Just to $$ to mass produce.
