throtle sticking
i have a 2150 carb on my 78 400m the carb idled great before rebuild, when i rebuilt it i soaked everything in chemical cleaner and a soluvent tank, now that it has been rebuilt the carb dont want to idle for nothing unless i mash on it hard and let off then it will idle down properly, if i dont do that it will idle high, high enough that if im goin down the road at 45 i can let off the gas pedal and have cruse control, even slowing down to a stop sign it still idles high, therefore i have to mash on it hard and quick to idle it down, any help on to fixing this problem would be great, i also have another carb i can use for parts if any of u think that would be helpful.

Check the throttle linkage and make sure it's not binding up anywhere. Make sure it's connected to the throttle lever correctly.
Check the external throttle return spring. It should be attached to either the linkage or the throttle lever.
