At 50-55 mph truck bounces like crazy then smooths out. My horse trailer is an old steel trailer the weighs 4300lbs unloaded. I have the truck at the shop right now and I'm goin to have them change the carrier bearing balance the driveline and do the u-joints. I don't have time to do it myself since I'm movin the wife and kids back to Washington. Anyone else have this issue or any other ideas as to what this could be? I took him for a drive in it and the truck with no trailer normally bounces a little bit between 35-40 but this time it didn't do it at all. Go figure!!! With the trailer on it the bouncing is about 10 times worse!!
I had the same vibration. I changed the rubber for the carrier bearing and it smoothed out some, but its still there. I wonder if the shaft needs balancing or the tires are out of balance.
my old gooseneck did that to. guess it depend's on where the axel's are on your trailer. mine were all the way back with no spring's. my bumper pull does it some but not as bad.

The truck did it all winter long with no trailer the bouncing that is. At higher speeds like 70 it turns into more of a vibration. Lets just say without a trailer u wouldn't want to stay between 35-40 or with the trailer between 50-55 if u had to pee.

My gooseneck horse trailer is 28' and the 2 axles are about 6' from the rear with springs. It feels like it is coming from the truck also because it does it with no trailer. Oh but not when I got a mechanic in the truck. Lol
How old are your shocks? Maybe some stiffer, heavy duty ones are in order. My truck bounces crazy with no shocks on it. My shock mounts rusted off thats how i know, haha.
