I recall a few months ago a thread on this issue. I believe washers were used to counter the alignment. Maybe someone with a better memory will respond.
It may be possible to move the hinges down by loosening them at the firewall and moving them down. However if you are at full adjustment there then in all liklihood the hinges are shot. I just replaced the passenger hinge on my 62 with a repop, because the rear was popping up like yours, and it was a fistfight to get the new hinge to line up. But its aligned now. I ended up shimming between the hinge plate and the hood. There are hinge rebuilders you can find on the web. Good luck...
Shim with washers at the rear or closer to the cab bolts holding the hood to the hinge. I used 2 flat washers on mine that were roughly an inch in diameter. Put the washers between the hinge and the hood. I did and it worked for me. This may be an indication that the hinges are worn out or possibly the hood has flown open ant one time or another damaging the hinge. Good luck with it.
My hood was sitting up in the back just like yours. I didnt take any pics of it but here is what it looks like after putting 2 washers per side on the rear hinge bolt.

It sits down now just about flush. Try it you might like it.
There is another option if the hood hinges are that far gone, and washers don't do the trick...you can grind some
metal off of the hinges at the bottom, allowing it to go lower than before on the firewall...that's what I did,
worked great.

I did this too, ground a little off the bottom edge of the hinges, elongated the bolt holes at the top of the mouting holes on the hinge and it slid down further, while I had them off I media blasted the hinges, and springs, then repainted them so it looks like they were always that way... It was pretty easy to do! Before modifying check and make sure the hinges aren't shot...
Glad you got it figured out, I also heard that heating the revits where it hinges red hot with a torch and then hitting with a hammer to reshape the revits works, but I have never done it.
