transmission differnce???

transmission differnce???
hi guys , the other day 2 freinds where arguing car trans vs pickup trans. one said car trans is geared higher. the other said its the torqe converter. i dont know what is the differce i did"nt want to say because i dont know .thanks guys

There may be some differences in the transmission in regards to torque capacity (more clutch plates, higher line pressure, etc.) but overall, there isn't much difference between transmissions installed in trucks, vans, and passenger cars.
